Savannah Cross
Savannah grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah training at numerous dance studios around the state. She travelled around the country assisting for the dance convention, Hollywood Connection. She was named one of the top 10 teen dancers at a dance nationals held in Los Angeles. She has worked with Alvin Ailey dancers performing original work by their company members. Savannah has been involved in the MOVE and Evolutions shows performing contemporary, ballroom, hip-hop and jazz under the direction of Rick Robinson. In 2011 she was a dancer on Paula Abdul’s TV show Live to Dance and made it to the finals. Also in 2011, she was a Sterling Scholar finalist in the dance category representing Hillcrest High School. She will be a senior in the modern dance department at the University of Utah this coming year, in which she is a fourth year scholarship student. She has been a member of the Performing Dance Company in the dance department for 3 years working with I-Fen Lin, Eric Handman and Satu Hummasti. While attending the University of Utah, Savannah has begun her own teaching and choreography around the state of Utah, sharing her interest in the intricate movement of the body. This summer she will be travelling to the UK to train with the Northern School of Contemporary Dance exploring dance outside of the United States. After graduating, Savannah hopes to become a member of a contemporary ballet company furthering her passion and love for dance.
