Christian Warner
Christian Alexander Phenix Warner, 21, was born and raised in Houston, Texas. His love for the arts began at his church where he would praise dance and also sing/direct the children’s choir. At seven years old, he began his musical theatre training under Carole McCann, Rozie Curtis, and Shay Rodgers at Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS). Two years later at nine years old, he was cast in the NetWorks production of Oliver! which toured nationally with a small stint in Canada. He remained with this tour for two years before joining the National Tour of Disney’s The Lion King. After two years of touring with The Lion King, he joined the Broadway company for two months. At sixteen years old, he enrolled in the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as a theatre major. After a semester, he transferred into the dance department (under department head LuAnne Carter and Janie Carothers) where he performed works by Troy Powell (Ailey II Director), Larry Keigwin, and Thang Dao. In his senior year, Christian was selected as a 2012 Modern Dance Finalist in the YoungArts program. He now is in his third year at Point Park University as a dance major and has been cast in works by Jose Limon, Jessica Lang, Robert Battle, Dwight Rhoden, Luke Murphy, Troy Powell, Mark Morris, Bennyroyce Royon, Rubén Graciani, Kiesha Lalama, and Garfield Lemonius.
