The New Orleans Dance Network is hosting the 4th annual New Orleans Dance Week with exciting new events and activities for all ages leading up to National Dance Day. The celebration has three central componets:

July 16 - July 27
14 dance programs across the city are offering $5 adult classes for two weeks leading up to National Dance Day. 
Classes are available for all levels in a wide range of genres, including African, ballet, belly dance, bounce, contemporary, hip hop, salsa, swing, and more. Adults that take class at 5 or more studios over the course of the two weeks will be entered in a raffle to win dance prizes such as free class packages and merchandise.

Stretch! Clap! Laugh! Go! Find your moves and catch the beat to celebrate National Dance Day with "EVERYONE Can DANCE at Canalside Buffalo", a free recreational dance class, fun and appropriate for all ages and physical abilities. We'll learn a special dance made just for this event, choreographed by Mandy Moore, in seated, standing and ambulating versions, so everyone can dance! And there's plenty of room to add your own style, so we'll all be rockin' it on the boardwalk! Welcome to people with movement challenges, Parkinson's disease, and people who use walkers or wheelchairs. Chairs are provided. Accessible. The event takes place outside, on the waterfront.

National Dance Day is Saturday, July 28th. Fresno City College’s Dance Department hosts a celebration of dance entertainment and education.

You and the rest of the Fresno dance community are invited to celebrate with a day of FREE master classes and entertainment, weaved with scholarship possibilities and prizes awarded to worthy participants.

Our guest teachers are dance professionals from our community and abroad; many of whom, are past Fresno City College alumni that are trail blazers in the arts!

WHO IS INVITED: local and regional middle schools, junior high schools, high schools, dance schools, cheerleading organizations, color guard, and marching band members, as well as any guest interested in dance education.

WHERE: Fresno City College (go to Free Speech area to sign Waiver and photo release forms.  NOTE: guardian needs to sign for participants under the age of 18)

TIME: Sat 10:00 am-8:00pm

Hip hop, ballet, contemporary, choreography, conditioning, jazz, ballroom, tap, African, and many more will be offered.

So You Think You Can Dance syndicated choreography will be taught from 4:00-5:00pm at the Fresno City College Theatre

Our third annual National Dance Day event will be kicking off with coffee, drinks and donuts at 8:30 am. Back this year by popular demand, selfie stations will be available for participants to have a little fun before the main event starts.

Participants will be performing a pre-choreographed group dance starting at 9:00 am in the parking lot which will be video taped and entered into the annual Dizzy Feet Foundation's National Dance Day video contest.

After the group dance, local studios and groups will be performing in the parking lot throughout the day! We are expecting over 200 dancers, twirlers, cheerleaders, gymnasts, parents and siblings to attend the third year of this now annual event.

The First 200 Participants who order their FREE TICKETS by July 18 will receive a FREE 2018 Dance Shop National Dance Day Tee Shirt to wear that day! NOTE: we will be contacting ticket holders via email in late July for tee shirt sizes.

The Bibbidy Bobbidy Ballerinas will be on hand collecting donations of new or gently used dance recital costumes and will donate them to children in need. The Bibbidy Bobbidy Ballerinas believe that children who cannot take classes because of health reasons, monetary issues or any other reasons, deserve a chance to forget about their troubles and feel beautiful! Pasadena Dance Theatre celebrates National Dance Day on Saturday, July 28, 2018, with a high-energy mix of classes ranging from ballet to hip-hop, Zumba to musical theater – and they’re all free!   

It’s a day as exhilarating to newcomers as it is to more experienced dancers, and it plays an important part in PDT's mission as a non-profit arts organization to reach out to every element of the community.

Also being featured is PDT’s first ever “flash-mob,” which will draw together all participants in a performance capping National Dance Day.

Celebrate National Dance Day in the USA with KDA on July 28!

Kern Dance Alliance is hosting the biggest National Dance Day celebration in Kern County by setting the dance floor on fire this summer with dance classes, prizes, raffles, yummy snacks, and cool drinks.  Dance classes are taught by dance educators across the county and will vary from beginning to advanced and range in dance styles. From Zumba to Hip Hop, Country Line Dance to Contemporary, dance classes are open to all community members, dancers and non-dancers, who want to join in the fun!

KMG Creations Dance, Fitness, & Production, LLC will be celebrating its 9th Annual Dancing in the Park community event Saturday, July 28, 2018.  This event promotes healthy living through dance and other forms of movement for all ages. Various Mississippi artists will incorporate various styles of dancing, including International dance performances. Special guest performance by Marilyn’s Clogging Company and the Marr Street Band from Arkansas! Also, special guest and demonst ration from the owner of  Love 2 Li ve Fitness in Brookhaven, MS , Coach Tra Collins! There will be many performances from local groups to enjoy as well. At this free family event for all ages, a free healthy lunch will be served (while supplies last). KMG Creations' Dancing in the Park also celebrates This year will highlight disability awareness through the art of dance and music. There will be a disability awareness walk beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the McKee Park entrance.  Dance performances will begin sharply at 9:45 a.m. This event attracts over 300 attendees each year! Lauren Froderman, winner of season 7 of So You Think You Can Dance returns to Beaumont, Texas for the 5th annual National Dance Day Event hosted by What's Happening Orange County. The main event is 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, July 28 in the lobby of Edison Plaza, 350 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701. This fun event is a mixture of dance performances from area dance groups and lots of audience participation with line dances and demonstrations. Lauren will lead a tutorial of the official Dance Day choreography. Come enjoy this fun free event for all ages! There will be a few vendors on site and Green Light Kitchen will be open with a limited menu for lunch and snacks. After the main event, Lauren will teach a beginner and intermediate contemporary class that does have a charge of $50, to cover expenses. Students will have a chance to talk with Lauren about her experiences on SYTYCD and life as a professional dancer. They will also get to take pictures  with her between the classes.

Ballet Austin joins the Dizzy Feet Foundation, and featured choreographers to celebrate dance and movement on Saturday, July 28.

Ballet Austin is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization and proceeds on National Dance Day go to support Ballet Austin's PINK PILATES Program, offered at no cost to breast cancer survivors! DANCE ALL DAY includes individual dance classes in a variety of dance styles and levels held all day long on Saturday, July 28. In addition, the featured dance routine, created just for National Dance Day will be offered to give you the opportunity to dance the same class as everyone across the nation! The day will feature a sample of Nashville Ballet's regularly programmed Community Division Adult Classes (ages 18 ), a one-day-only all-ages version of the wildly popular high-energy DANCEFIX class and a special youth musical theatre class. All ages are encouraged to participate on July 28 in honor of this annual nationwide celebration of dance. Do you love to dance? Come hear Orlando REP teaching artist, Desiree Parkman, read her book Dancing with Naima and then participate in a dance class! Each student receives a signed copy of the book to end this fun filled dance experience!

Desiree Parkman was no older than Naima when she fell in love with dance. From her hometown studio outside of Boston, MA she went on to grace the stages of Broadway as well as become a member of the world renowned Radio City Rockettes. Dance has given Desiree a wonderful opportunity to share her gift teaching students worldwide the beauty and power of movement. Now she has ventured into children’s literature with the publication of her first book Dancing with Naima.
